Beppu Towel is a towel specialty store that has been in business for more than 60 years in Beppu city, Oita. The “towel” using the pattern made in the Showa 30s (1960s) is so cute. As a retro towel series, it has cute illustrations with the atmosphere of Showa period of Japan.

Below the illustration in Kanji characters says “Beppu Onsen”, is one of Japan’s leading hot spring resorts, with a retro character design. The hot spring mark add nice attention, isn’t it?

Beppu Towel

I visited the shop. Unfortunately, I was told by window sign that they were going out for delivery, closed for a moment. Bad timing.

Inside the shop, I can see a lot of cute retro towels. All of them are adorable and nostalgic illustrations. No luck this time!

Unfortunately, I couldn’t buy it at the store, but I was able to buy it at the shop “Beppu Meihin Zo (Masterpiece Store)” in JR Beppu Station.

Towels are easy to carry. It is also perfect as a practical gift to take back home.
