Near the Sumida Hokusai Museum, which we introduced to you the other day, there is a very unique soba noodle dish inspired by Hokusai! Its name is “Hokusai Seiro”! Not only is it unique, but it is also extremely delicious with its rich duck flavor and bonito broth.
I highly recommend this dish for a meal at the Sumida Hokusai Museum! Let’s go for a Hokusai-inspired meal!
It is a quiet, stylish, small restaurant.
The specialty, Hokusai Seiro, is here!
Hokusai seiro is two-tiered soba noodles served with a special warm dipping sauce. The rich duck flavor and bonito broth is combined with a large tsukune (skewer), thickly sliced leeks, eggplant, and duck meat! Each ingredient is blended into this delicious dipping sauce and is very tasty when served with soba noodles—!!!!!!
The soba noodles are said to be inspired by the 36 Views of Mount Fuji.
Honoka soba
It is also delicious here with fried rice cake and spicy daikon radish!
Looking at Hokusai’s paintings and eating Hokusai seiro (rice bowl)! It was a day steeped in Hokusai!
Stay tuned for more updates of Japan. See you soon!
