We discovered a cafe like a mountain hut on a mountain path full of nature!!! We ate delicious Kameshi(Japanese clay pot rice) while listening to the babbling of the river. This is a wonderful hideaway cafe where the air and the food are both delicious.
It is in the mountainous area of the rural landscape of Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture. The air is so clean!
It is such a luxurious moment to take a break at this cafe while listening to the babbling of the river while looking at the nostalgic Japanese rural landscape and the lush green trees on the mountains! We hope Overseas Visitors will also experience the atmosphere of the Japanese countryside.
The lodge-like atmosphere is very nice.
The cafe looks like this. There’s even a fireplace in the winter! (The photo below is a little cut off, but the fireplace is on the right.)
It’s a really nice space where you can feel the warmth of wood. It seems to have opened three years ago. It used to be a riders’ cafe. This area seems to be a mecca for cyclists.
Kamameshi(Japanese clay pot rice) is so delicious!!!
I called in advance and they made it so that it would be ready when I arrived! Octopus rice and chicken rice. Look at these pots! Eating rice in a mountain hut surrounded by nature is the best.
The flavor of the octopus permeated through and it was simple yet very delicious.
The steam made the room cloudy. The chicken rice kettle was so good. It was just the right amount of salt, and the flavors of the burdock, chicken, and ginger were really good. The rice was cooked perfectly, and each grain was firm, just the best. It had a simple taste that made me want to eat it again and again.
It comes with miso soup and side dishes for just 900 yen!!! Cheap!!! (As of May 2023)
I also ordered a hot sandwich and gelato!
And the gelato was delicious!!! Rich and sweet with mango flavor. It tasted just like homemade gelato.
Here’s the menu ↓↓
There are lots of other delicious options too.
Please kindly pay attention to the area around the store!
I forgot to take a picture, but there is a river in front of the restaurant, and it seems to be on the restaurant’s grounds. There is a river and a bench when you go down the stairs. Please feel free to stroll around! You can hear the babbling of the river from here. It’s nice to relax and watch the river after your meal!
It seems that the owner of the shop likes flowers, and the regulars brought them. There was also a succulent plant next to it that another regular brought. (I forgot to take a picture, lol) I was touched to see that this shop is loved by its regulars.
Why not enjoy lunch at a lovely cafe while listening to the murmuring of the river?
Stay tuned for more updates of Japan. See you soon!
