When it comes to kid-friendly spots, zoos are the go-to! Foreign visitors traveling with families, why not enjoy Japan’s zoos? Tobu Zoo Park features an amusement park too, offering all kinds of fun ways to enjoy the day.
Must-see for train travelers! Hop on the bus in front of Tobu Zoo Station to reach the East Gate of Tobu Zoo. And guess what? At the East Gate… an amusement park spreads out before you. If you walk straight toward the animal area… it’s quite a distance. It’s a full 2 kilometers to the West Gate, the entrance to the animal area…
The recommended option is the shuttle bus running inside the zoo! It loops between the East Gate, Central Area, and West Gate. I think it’s most efficient to take the bus straight to the West Gate first, then start exploring. Especially if you have small children, they might get tired by the time you reach the animal area.

Personally, I was shocked by how incredibly close you get to the male kangaroos. There was only a flimsy fence, so flimsy you could almost step right in.
