I visited the National Stadium, which was built as the venue for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games! Actually walking around the anterooms in the stadium and the track, the excitement of the Olympics Games came back to me.
A lot of wood has been utilized, and the stadium has a wonderful Japanese feel to it. I would love for all Overseas Visitors who come to Japan to visit!

Here is the front!
We headed from JR Sendagaya station, but it was so wide that we were lost as to where the front was…. The front where everyone is taking pictures is “E”gate ! You should head this way first and take a commemorative photo from the outside!
Please take a stadium tour!
Admission for adults is 1,400 yen, and 800 yen for high school students and younger. You will need to enter the venue to get started! There is a ticket booth near Gate E. Purchase your tour tickets here and head to Gate C.
A sign wall welcomes you.
First up is the Sign Wall. This is a wall of signatures left by track and field athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Games. There appear to be about 300 signatures.
But I’m not sure which sign is who…
Don’t worry! There is a guide, accessible via a QR code, that will show you which athlete each sign is for and whether or not they have earned a medal.
We found the signature of the men’s relay athlete Kiryu!
The torch relay torch was found in the interview zone zone!
You can see the actual torch up close.
In the locker room, there are uniforms signed by past members of the Japanese national soccer team!
There are autographs of very nostalgic players and other items that are great fun to look at!
The other anteroom is without exhibits. You can see the atmosphere. It is a nice locker room with the warmth of wood.
Finally, it’s time for the players to enter! It’s the gate of the “Mere Old Man”!
It’s kind of uplifting to enter the stadium from here! I enter the stadium feeling like I am a player.
Finally, it’s track & field!
The colors of the bleachers are also a mosaic, randomly brown, green, and white, which somehow gives the illusion that there is an audience. It is very pleasant to see the sky smack in the middle.
The track is also where the athletes actually ran, which is kind of exciting to just walk around. There were even people running!
You can sit in the audience.
You can also go to the observation deck on the 5th floor! The view is very nice.
Take the elevator to the 5th floor. It is a wonderful view. You can see the blue sky, and the contrast between the green of the grass on the soccer court below and the brown of the track is so beautiful. I’m glad I came for the stadium tour!
<Caution !>If you inadvertently go to the stadium from Sendagaya station and go up the nearest stairs…
At first, I didn’t know what was going on, but as soon as I arrived at the stadium, I went up the stairs that I saw…. I thought I would be able to enter the stadium from here…. I thought I could enter the stadium from here……but it was a walkway to the outside of the 5th floor of the stadium! I was in tears!
The following path continues around the stadium…. Some people were enjoying running. It’s nice to be able to see the Tokyo cityscape, but if you are expecting to see the inside of the stadium, this is not the place for you……! Please go to Gate E. !!!!
I lost a lot of time and energy.
Anyway, don’t be stingy, I recommend going on the stadium tour! The free tour is only the last outside tour….
Also, the stadium tour will not be available on the dates when competitions are held, so please make sure to check before you go! ⇒ Check the official website here for confirmation!
Please keep coming to see the stadium, the pride of Japan – !!!!
Stay tuned for more updates of Japan. See you soon!
