The most luxurious dream has come true! The dream is to take a leisurely soak in a hot spring while enjoying the majestic view of Mt. Fuji. It was an irreplaceable experience to be able to just relax and look at Mt. Fuji without being disturbed by anyone.
This hotel where you can enjoy Mt. Fuji and hot springs is “Fugaku Gunjo”. I would like all foreigners to experience this and fall in love with Japan! ! !
What does Fugaku Gunjo(富岳群青) mean?
If I were going to go to a private open-air bath, I would definitely want to see Mt. Fuji from the bath, so I searched a lot.
And I fell in love at first sight with the name “Fugaku Gunjo.”
Fugaku(富岳)→ another name for Mt. Fuji
Gunjo(群青)→ a blue group, representing the sea
The hotel’s four-letter name reflects the spectacular view of Mt. Fuji floating in the sea.
You can enjoy the view as the hotel’s name suggests from a luxurious room with an open-air bath. (However, it depends on the weather!) The hotel’s structure is simple, with eight separate guest rooms, and on the other side there is a lobby and a private dining room. There is a stylish cafe space in the center. It is illuminated at night.
We have arrived at lobby!
After arriving at the hotel, we were welcomed with tea and sweets.
Go to the room “Okinone”
There are 8 rooms, all with their own concept, with different furniture and private open-air baths. “Okinomine”「沖の嶺」 is based on the concept of an exotic space where the colorful kilims will make your heart flutter. There was furniture with an Asian feel.
The guest rooms and open-air bath area have a huge transparent glass panel that creates a sense of unity. You can enjoy the view from inside! Outside, there is not only an open-air bath, but also a terrace where you can spend a relaxing time.
There’s even an indoor bath with a jet bath! And it is connected to an open-air bath.
Amenities are also plentiful
I was surprised that it included not only lotion and emulsion, but also a disposable electric toothbrush.
I was also impressed by the variety of things you’d want to drink or eat after taking an open-air bath, such as Nestle Cafe & Tea with a variety of flavors, Mt. Fuji cider, coffee milk, pudding, beer, and jelly.
We also have plenty of yukatas, sweatshirts, bathrobes, and towels.
Items for relaxing in the open-air bath and terrace are perfect! !
Where is Mt. Fuji? ? ?
At Fugaku Gunjo, you can enjoy a long stay with check-in at 3pm and check-out at 12pm. I arrived at around 3:30 with great enthusiasm!
Actually…I have to make a confession here. When I arrived on the first day, Mt. Fuji was hidden by clouds and I couldn’t see it.
The only thing that cannot be controlled is the weather, so I would like to share this with everyone as a risk. Even without Mt. Fuji, it is a very nice open-air bath and terrace with a view of the ocean.
6:00 The next morning, sunrise at 6am ↓ “I can’t see the top half…”
6:51 The white part above was visible between the clouds! It’s finally starting to look like Mt. Fuji.
7:10 The clouds became thinner, the area became brighter, and Mt. Fuji came into view!
9:16 It’s clearly Mt. Fuji! ! ! I’m thrilled to be able to see it.
When I asked the hotel staff, they told me that there is an 80% chance that you can see Mt. Fuji in the winter and 10% in the summer. Winter is the best! (I can’t choose the weather though…)
Dinner and breakfast are so delicious!
French cuisine in the evening and traditional Japanese cuisine in the morning are very delicious. It’s nice to have your meals in a private room.
~Dinner~

A private space where no one would disturb you, Mt. Fuji, an open-air bath, and delicious food made for unforgettable memories.
