Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture. Tsukuba City is known as an academic city, where a variety of industry-academia-university research is conducted, and is home to more than 300 research institutes and the largest number of residents with doctoral degrees in Japan. Tsukuba is only 40 minutes away from central Tokyo by Tsukuba Express train. Tsukuba City is a city with many academics, a wonderful natural environment, and urban convenience. It is a culturally diverse city with 133 registered foreign nationalities.
Spacious Park
Tsukuba City’s Doho Park is located in Tsukuba City. Centered on Doho Swamp, the 20-hectare park is lined with cherry trees, ginkgo trees, pine trees, and many other trees that change with the seasons, making it a place of relaxation for visitors.
Great for athletes
A full range of sports facilities including a multipurpose area, baseball field, gymnasium, one of the world’s largest heated swimming pools (50m x 9 courses) using solar power generation and thermal storage system, tennis courts (6 courts with lighting), indoor studio, and athletic square with playground equipment.
A jogging course that is easy on the feet
The jogging course is my favorite of all. The rubber-chip urethane pavement is gentle on your feet and knees and makes running comfortable. Jogging in the clear air is the most refreshing experience.
Due to its location in an academic town, Doho Park is also home to many overseas residents. Many events are held by various nationalities, and the park is a place where people actively interact with each other.
There are also stylish restaurants, cafes, and bakeries in the area, so you can enjoy the whole day. Recommended for those who want to spend a relaxing day. Don’t forget to visit tasty Yakiimo wizard’s shop. It locates not far from Doho Park.
Stay tuned for more updates of Japan. See you soon!
