There is a famous sweets store located in Sanda City, Hyogo Prefecture, which is rich in nature. That shop is Patissier es Koyama! ! ! The shop’s signature product is the “Koyama Roll” which became a hot topic when it won the TV Champion Cake Craftsman Championship. This is so delicious!
In addition to Koyama Roll, products and stores have expanded one after another, including Western confectionery, chocolate, macarons, bread, and cafes, and now it is no exaggeration to call it Koyama Village, a sweets area. I’m excited and at the same time wondering which one to buy. And there’s always a line.
Koyama’s worldview in Sanda’s natural environment
As you can see in the photo above, you can feel the worldview that harmonizes Sanda’s natural atmosphere with the excitement of buying sweets from every corner of the store.
This is what the inside of the main cake shop looks like. It is designed with insects, dinosaur fossils, and nature in mind. As I introduced in a previous article, I think this is because the Sanda’s museum also conducts research on dinosaur fossils.
There are also various Koyama brand stores attached!
The one on the left is a chocolate specialty store, and the one on the right is a store called Mirai Seisakusho, which is only open to children.
On the left is a cafe, and on the right is a store that sells macarons and jam!
There is a bakery in this building!

This is the most famous Koyama roll! !
First of all, you have to try the most popular menu item, Koyama Roll! ! The sponge is very delicious. It has a rich sweet taste and a fluffy texture. And, with the accent of chestnuts, the perfect balance of fresh cream and custard! ! ! It’s really delicious. It’s understandable that it’s a perennially popular product.
I bought some bread too! !
I also took the opportunity to buy some bread! !
On the left, the mentaiko(spicy pollack roe) and risotto bread was extremely delicious, with the mentaiko and rice mixed inside the crispy French bread and the juicy butter.

The picture on the right is the spring vegetable and curry-flavored Wiener bread. The paprika had a crunchy texture, and the Wiener and other vegetables were seasoned with curry flavor, making it very delicious.
The popular strawberry jam bread is filled with so much strawberry jam that it’s hard to beat. The skin is like fried bread, and the flavor of strawberries spreads in your mouth. It’s rich and very delicious.
Koyama pudding, a seasonal strawberry flavor!
The pudding was melty and very rich, and it was very delicious. It starts with the seasonal strawberry flavor, and has two layers with the classic pudding flavor, making it very delicious. This is a dish that will make you want to eat more.
A strawberry flavored roll cake! Seasonally limited
Since it’s strawberry season, I decided to make the roll cake with strawberries this time! The standard plain flavor is also really delicious! It looks stylish from the outside. The outer coating is a nice accent with the taste of strawberries and sugar, and the fluffy baumkuchen itself spreads throughout your mouth with the gentle sweetness of the dough itself. It’s really delicious. It feels like the season (at the time of writing: late May.)
You’re starting to want to eat sweets! ! ! ? Please come and try some Koyama sweets! ! ! You won’t regret it! !
