When it comes to Chinese food, we tend to order the classic, oil-heavy staples like mapo tofu, gyoza, and xiaolongbao, but this restaurant stands out for its unique, delicate, and refined flavors! It’s Ching Ming Umeda (LUCUA South), located on the 14th floor of LUCUA South at Osaka Station.
First up is this stir-fried whitefish with egg whites. The simple flavors of the whitefish and egg whites, combined with a drizzle of egg yolk, are absolutely exquisite. The subtle, delicate taste of the fish paired with the rich accent of the egg yolk is exquisite and addictive. Oh, it’s delicious!! My perception of Chinese cuisine has completely changed.
Next up is the miso-stir-fried beef. I recommend wrapping it in a crepe. The beef is coated in miso, and it tastes delicious when rolled up in a crepe with green onions. Looking around at the other tables, I noticed that the regulars—who clearly have been coming here for a long time—were ordering this exact same dish as the one I just mentioned! It seems to be a popular choice among the regulars at this restaurant.
This is a scallop steak. It’s a huge scallop that really packs a punch. It’s seasoned with soy sauce and is absolutely delicious. It’s a flavor you’ll get hooked on. It’s delicious.
We also ordered the giant tiger prawns and glass noodles simmered in XO sauce! The prawns and XO sauce have really soaked into the glass noodles. The noodles are so good!!! And of course, the prawns are delicious too. Once you start eating, you just can’t stop.
The cold jellyfish salad is light and refreshing—it’s delicious!
This isn’t your typical Chinese food; the light, mellow flavors that highlight the natural taste of the ingredients completely shattered my preconceptions about Chinese cuisine. I’m truly impressed by the depth and versatility of Chinese cuisine.
Of course, this restaurant also offers classic Chinese dishes, and they all look delicious… I want to try everything on the menu.
