This is Ichiran, my favorite ramen shop, which I introduced before. (Click here for the previous post.) I finally got to enjoy Ichiran’s tonkotsu ramen again after a long time!!!
Lately, the Tokyo locations have been packed with tourists—with lines so long you might have to wait two hours! I didn’t have the courage to stand in a line like that, so I’d given up. But then, I made a discovery!!! There’s a hidden Ichiran location in Ōmiya, Saitama. While there is a line, it’s nowhere near as long as the ones in Tokyo, making it a real hidden gem.
It’s the same one-of-a-kind experience as always! While you can choose the firmness of the noodles, the amount of red sauce, and whether to have green or white onions, it’s essentially the same, top-notch dish every time. That indescribable flavor—a clear, transparent taste despite being a tonkotsu broth. When you mix the red sauce into the tonkotsu broth, which has absolutely no gamey odor, a spicy, savory kick spreads throughout, creating a truly exquisite flavor.
Ichiran is the only place where I end up drinking every last drop of the broth every single time. Wow—it’s truly delicious. It’s the absolute best.
