If you would like to go see a castle, I recommend Matsumoto Castle! I Although small in size, the six-story keep and the jet-black exterior are impressive and very beautiful.

One of the 12 remaining castles and 5 national treasures
Matsumoto Castle is one of only 12 castles in Japan with a “Genzon Tenshu” (existing castle keep). The castle tower has survived through many vicissitudes. You can clearly see that it has been loved and cherished by the local people. Furthermore, Matsumoto Castle is one of only five castles among the existing castle towers that have been designated as National

Stairs with a 61-degree incline
A sign showing the features of Matsumoto Castle.

To say the least, the slope was amazing. If I let my guard down, I felt like I was going to roll down. The ascent was hard, but the descent was scary. Almost a wall.

Since the slope is so steep, taking pictures is prohibited. Therefore, it is not as powerful as it should be, but you can feel the atmosphere.

Jet-black castle tower reflected in the Alps
Matsumoto Castle is built among the mountain ranges of the Northern Alps. Therefore, in winter, the white of the snow on the Alps contrasts with the jet-black castle. A wonderful spot that harmonizes with the magnificent scenery.

There are ninjas
After the tour, you can take a picture with a ninja in front of the castle. With this kind of attraction, you would enjoy the visit more.

Matsumoto Castle, a landmark filled with history and beauty. It is just a short distance from Hakuba ski resort.
