I really love shijimi clams and often drink shijimi miso soup. Generally speaking, when people think of shijimi, they probably think of pairing them with miso, but this ramen is a collaboration between soy sauce ramen and shijimi clams!
I discovered this “Shijimi Dashi Soy Sauce Ramen” at the Sogo department store, and let me tell you—the moment you take a sip of the soy sauce broth, the umami flavor of the shijimi clams just explodes in your mouth! !! Even though it’s light, you can really taste the rich essence of the shijimi clams. It’s sooooo delicious!!!
It’s not sold everywhere; it seems to be available mostly at slightly higher-end supermarkets, like those in department stores.
I really want overseas visitors to try this ramen, too. It has a flavor that truly captures the essence of Japanese cuisine.
