When you think of spring, after the cherry blossoms, it’s got to be nemophila, right~~! From pink to a pale, translucent blue—it really cleanses the soul. It leaves you feeling so refreshed! My top recommendation in the Kanto region is, without a doubt, Hitachi Seaside Park. The vast hills covered in nemophila are simply breathtaking.

And the Hitachi Seaside Park is sooooooo huge. First of all, there are parking lots at both the West and South entrances… If you’re walking, the West entrance is closer.

I ended up at the South Entrance without realizing it, but luckily I bought a one-day pass for the Seaside Train, which runs every 10 minutes, and easily made my way from the South Entrance to “Miharashi no Oka” (Viewing Hill), where the nemophila flowers are. I highly recommend buying this 600-yen pass right from the start!!! It’s a distance that will use up more than half your energy before you even reach the main attraction, so hop on the train as much as you can. It comes around quickly.

The rapeseed flowers were blooming, too—so pretty!

The tulip garden was still in bloom and looked beautiful. There’s also an amusement park area and plenty more to see and do. With a huge lawn area, there’s something for everyone, regardless of age or gender.

Why not come and recharge your batteries in this vast, colorful park filled with beautiful flowers? It’s one of Japan’s finest parks!

Stay tuned for more updates of Japan. See you soon!
